Tuesday March 25th
|Sue, our Chairman, introduces the guest speaker|
Chairman of the South East Region of the Japanese Garden Society
Once again we were privileged to have an extremely informative and interesting talk at our March monthly meeting. We heard a presentation on how Japanese Gardens have developed over the years with descriptions of four different types of traditional garden as well as photographs of Jack Wheeler’s own beautiful Japanese Garden which he has developed over many years. The donation which was given for this talk is in aid of the Ellenor Lions Hospice in Northfleet which he and his wife have supported for many years.
At the end of his talk, he kindly offered to open his garden to our U3A Group in May. There will be two sessions and anyone who is interested should contact Sylvia Greenwood of the Gardening Group.

At the end of the meeting, before coffee and cakes, we heard from a member of the Edenbridge Town Council who outlined our chance as a community to shape the planning for the new Neighbourhood Plan which will develop the area over the next 16 years until 2030. We were given forms to complete to give our opinions on the future of the town as well as being given an opportunity to see a small
display about the plan.
